Built for more demanding environments such as challenging rivers and nearshore, Otter X is a fully electric catamaran with autonomous capabilities.
Maritime Robotics’ latest Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV), Otter X, bridges the gap between Otter Pro and the larger, ocean-ready Mariner range with an incredibly capable vehicle designed for coastal and river operations.
Powered by 3 lithium-ion battery packs and twin 11kW electric thrusters, Otter X delivers zero emission propulsion with precision, endurance and adaptability. The impressive modularity and spacious dry chambers ensure you’re ready for any mission, whether that’s environmental monitoring, surveillance, or scientific data collection.

Applications
Otter X is highly modular, and offers reliable autonomous support for a range of applications:
Integrating multibeam sonar systems with Otter X will create highly-detailed 3D models, so bathymetric projects such as nautical charting, pipeline routing or construction planning are simple. With a multi-hulled design, long battery life and shallow draft you can survey even the most awkward areas with excellent stability, endurance and precision.
Water quality, nutrient, pollutant, and acoustic sensors are easily integrable, making Otter X ideal for environmental studies. With real-time data transmission, lengthy autonomous endurance, and quiet operation, it’s perfect for oceanography, marine biology, and climate research.
Otter X is also a flexible platform for maritime surveillance and inspection, helping to keep coastal and inland waterways safe. Autonomous monitoring reduces the need for constant human oversight, and high-resolution cameras (including infrared and low-light), as well as radar and AIS ensure Otter X can detect, identify, and track vessels while flagging suspicious activity via highly reliable communication links. For underwater work, ROVs can be directly deployed or sonars fitted to inspect pipelines, bridges, and harbours.
