SEABER’S story started with four individuals driven by their passion for creating accessible AUV technology. United by their expertise in different industries, the team boasts over thirty years of experience.
Vidal and Quentin are experts in designing Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for both scientific and industrial uses. Julien and Clément, on the other hand, have been deeply involved in mobile robotics for over a decade. Bringing technical prowess and a fresh perspective they join SEABER with a passion for innovation in marine technologies.
Together, these four individuals share a genuine passion for robotics, and marine exploration. Their unique blend of skills and enthusiasm is the driving force behind their mission: to revolutionise AUV technology by creating an micro-AUV that transforms how we explore the depths of the ocean.

The SEABER YUCO AUV
SEABER’S off-the-shelf AUV, the YUCO is distributed in the UK and Ireland by RS Aqua. Known for its bold pink colouring, the YUCO micro-AUV boasts innovation, reliability and efficiency. Not only is it low maintenance, but it also operates in varying types of coastal waters and conditions.
The SEABER YUCO range comprises four variants, with multiple payloads, all of which serve specific needs.

How product development uncovered key market gaps
SEABER launched the RECALL® micro-AUV in 2022 to meet the challenges and limitations of existing technology. When a gap in the market was identified, they set out to develop a product meeting the specific requirements of the defence industry.
The RECALL®
As the newest member of the micro-AUV family, the RECALL® is designed as a training target capable of realistically reproducing submarine noise and motion. Integrating different training modes the RECALL® is compatible with modern sonar systems.
ASW training tool
The RECALL® is a dynamic solution in the world of ASW training. To elevate training capabilities this micro-AUV was designed specifically to be lightweight, achieving an impressive speed of up to 12 knots.
To simulate real-life scenarios, the RECALL® is compatible with various training modes including passive, active, and combined acoustics allowing personnel to replicate any given scenario to streamline the training experience.
Easy to recover in demanding conditions, the RECALL® is equipped with the SEACOMM (UHF) recovery module for rapid location and recovery at sea.
Most importantly, the RECALL® has been fitted with an intuitive, human-machine interface (HMI). Designed by robotics professionals, the software is tailored to the diverse skills of its defence operators who may not be experts in robotics, making it an asset for adaptability in ASW training.
