The Seasats Range
RS Aqua is the UK and Ireland provider for Seasats, delivering advanced, unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) for defence and hydrographic applications. From rapid-response security missions to high-resolution bathymetric surveys, Seasats’ USVs combine proven autonomy, robust design and trusted sensor integration to perform wherever the mission leads.
Lightfish base model
Seasats’ flagship autonomous vessel Lightfish is simple, modular and extremely effective.
Offering range and resilience, this AUV travels 8,000 nautical miles, using solar power and its hybrid reserve for longer missions. A satellite at sea for gathering vast ocean intelligence without the cost or complexity of a crewed expedition.
Key features
• Navigation and avoidance sensor
• Rugged for rough-sea conditions
• Long-life electric propulsion
• Modular payload bay for mission flexibility
• 6-month solar reserve
• Generator for hybrid operations
• Easy to configure & recharge
• Affordable & low maintenance
• Operable in all coastal water types
Lightfish Environmental Model
From littoral waters to the open ocean, Lightfish gathers the environmental intelligence that helps us understand and protect our seas. It monitors and tracks marine life, captures offshore weather data, supports harmful algal bloom prediction and much more.
Robust and adaptable, Lightfish can operate independently or as part of a coordinated fleet, delivering consistent, high-quality data across vast ocean areas for months at a time.
Key features
• Wind and weather station mounting
• 500m winch for CTD measurement
• Interial wave high measurements
• Hull-mounted Nortek VM500 ADCP
• Keel mounting for water monitoring sensor
Lightfish Security Model
The security Lightfish is built for intelligence and surveillance, recognising maritime domain awareness. Small silhouette hulls are designed with discretion in mind, reducing visibility while delivering the data that matters.
Key features
• Wind speed, AIS and signals collection options[NM1.1]
• Solar for multi-month operations
• Electric propulsion
• Radar, optical thermal cameras
• Keel for stability
Lightfish Hydro Model
The Lightfish Hydrographic is built to make high-quality bathymetric mapping possible wherever its needed most, even in remote and high-risk locations.
With its rugged exterior, it works confidently in rough seas, with collision avoidance software as standard and redundant communications that keeps you connected. Using industry leading sensors to delivery data compliant with IHO standards, you can gather results with ease.
Key features
• 500m profiling winch for velocity measurement
• D-GPS units for high-accuracy positioning
• Hull-mounted multibeam sonar
Quickfish
Quickfish is built for speed and control on the water. Its COTS design keeps build and maintenance simple, with teams mission-ready in just three to five days.
Powered by jet and propeller propulsion, it can exceed 35 knots when needed. Launched remotely from a dock or mooring, it’s ready to monitor, intercept and identify targets across ports and offshore environments. An integrated drone platform extends its reach for closer inspection or visible deterrence. Fast, flexible and ready to deploy.
Key features
• Long range radar sensor
• High speed jet and propeller propulsion
• Modular payload bay with ariel launch capabilities
• Aluminium plate for low tooling assembly
