To continue our growth journey, we are looking for a passionate and committed Ocean Science Graduate to join the team. We are particularly keen to meet oceanography, hydrography, maritime or subsea engineering graduates, but all ocean science disciplines will be considered.

RS Aqua is the UK’s leading and largest Ocean Technology distributor and subsea scientific equipment supplier, with extensive technical support services including equipment servicing and subsea systems integration. We are an independent SME and a high growth company.

Our modern offices and workshops are located the beautiful Port Solent Marina, Portsmouth. You will be based in Port Solent, with hybrid and flexible working available, with travel required throughout UK and internationally.

The Role

You will be based within a team that supports our customers and collaborators across the ocean science technology user communities by providing technical, commercial and application advice about the technologies we can provide for scientific data gathering.

Confidence, credibility and impeccable communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be dealing directly with ocean scientists, engineers and oceanography end users.

You will receive comprehensive training, then you will be expected to maintain high levels of technical competence across meteorological / ocean data gathering, oceanography, underwater acoustics, marine robotics and other subsea engineered technologies.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Oceanography / Subsea Engineering / Marine Science graduate degree.
  • Experience of working hands-on with science technology instruments or equipment.
  • Experience of giving presentations on scientific topics. Public speaking a bonus.
  • Applied research or commercial experience in the maritime domain a bonus.
  • Evidence of extracurricular team activities such e.g. sports, clubs or societies, to support your professional and personal development to date.

  • Passionate and hardworking, but still fun to be around.
  • Focused and energetic, to manage deadlines and changing priorities.
  • A high-level communicator, in person, in writing and online.
  • Collaborative and trustworthy; able to thrive in a high-performing team environment, whilst sometimes working alone.

To continue our growth journey, we are looking for a passionate and committed Ocean Systems Technician to join the team. We are particularly keen to speak to people with maritime or electrical engineering / manufacturing experience, with a passion for ocean technology and engineering.

Our modern offices and workshops are located the beautiful Port Solent Marina, Portsmouth. You will be based in Port Solent, with flexible working available, and occasional travel required throughout UK and internationally.

The Role

You will be based within our technical services and engineering team, supporting our customers across the ocean technology community by providing equipment calibration services, systems integration and subsea systems design support for our portfolio of technologies, including robotic systems, underwater sensors and software systems.

Confidence, credibility and impeccable communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with colleagues across the business and with high profile customers across our sector.

You will receive extensive training on our bespoke systems, but you will be expected to demonstrate high level competence with electrical systems, data and / or telemetry systems, and a passion for engineering. You will be expected to maintain high levels of technical competence across ocean and maritime technologies; we will support you with further professional development in our industry.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Higher Education in engineering, maritime, ocean science or similar
  • Experience of working hands-on with maritime or environmental monitoring instruments, equipment and software
  • Software, programming and design skills (e.g. CAD drawing)
  • Evidence of extracurricular team activities e.g. sports, clubs or societies, to support your professional and personal development to date.
