We’re excited to introduce Porpoise Pod, a brand-new multi-channel passive acoustic monitoring recorder developed in collaboration with our long-standing passive acoustics partner, Turbulent Research.

Building on the proven performance of its single-channel sibling, Porpoise Pod expands the platform to four channels, making advanced multi-hydrophone deployments easier than ever. It’s designed for researchers who want more acoustic insight without adding unnecessary complexity in the field.

Multi-channel monitoring with extended battery life

Porpoise Pod is available with either 36 or 84 D-cell lithium or alkaline batteries, supporting long-term monitoring campaigns in demanding environments. With a 750m depth rating and an operating range of −50°C to +50°C, it’s built to handle harsh conditions with confidence.

Housed in rugged composite glass fibre and engineered plastics, Porpoise Pod is well suited to extended deployments at sea. Whether used for marine mammal monitoring or wider underwater acoustic research, Porpoise Pod provides reliable, multi-channel recording for long-term projects.

We’ll be showcasing Porpoise Pod 36D on our stand G500 at Oceanology this week.  Turbulent Research will also be displaying the larger 84D version at stand E400 on the Canada Pavillion.

If you’re attending the show, drop by to see Porpoise Pod up close and talk with our team about how it could support your next monitoring project.
