MATS is a three day showcase of the latest developments in marine autonomous technology and applications, hosted at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton. The conference features key note speakers including: Jim Birch, Director of the SURF Centre at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, Rear Admiral Nick Lambert, from Ocean Infinity, Prof Ed Hill OBE, Chief Executive NOC will open the event.
There will be talks from industry professionals following the theme: exploring the information needs of users of Marine Autonomous Systems (MAS), reviewing the current technologies available to enable the data gathering for MAS users and exploring the methods of taking that data and making it exploitable information for the user need. Presentations will be looking forward to the next 5 years.
Our Head of Marine and Survey Applications, Sam Forbes will be representing RS Aqua at the exhibition. Specifically showcasing our Porpoise passive acoustic monitoring system, RBR Legato and Brevio & Turner Designs Cyclops Integrator. RS Aqua will also be joined by Alseamar and the SEAEXPLORER underwater glider. The SEAEXPLORER underwater glider is a powerful autonomous sensing platform designed to collect water column data profiles with very wide spatio-temporal coverage (thousands of km and weeks to months of endurance).
