Always a highlight in the ocean science calendar, Oceanology International this year was no exception. We were delighted to be there alongside partners, customers and friends from across the industry. From exciting conversations on the stand to new products and partnerships, here are some of our favourite moments from the week.
Launches
Marlin
We launched Marlin, a key step towards smarter ocean listening that we’ve been working on for three years. Marlin extends traditional Passive Acoustic Monitoring by delivering full access to raw broadband data and intelligent detection results in near real time – enabling faster, more informed decisions in complex marine environments.
From tracking marine mammals to identifying vessel activity and unusual underwater noise, Marlin opens a new window into the underwater world and supports better decisions for defence, ocean science, conservation and maritime security.
Marlin’s Key features:
• Real-time processing
• 1TB onboard storage
• 4G communications as standard (advanced options available)
• GPS time synchronisation
• Dedicated desktop software
We also launched a brand-new website for Marlin
Porpoise Pod
Porpoise Pod was our next big launch – a brand-new multi-channel passive acoustic monitoring recorder developed with our friends over at Turbulent Research.
Building on the proven performance and enormous storage options of its single-channel sibling, Porpoise Pod adds multi-channel monitoring for the first time in this product range, making advanced deployments easier than ever.

New friends
We welcomed a new partnership with San Diego-based Seasats, creators of next generation autonomous surface vehicles. Seasats is recognised for its high-endurance, modular, and user-friendly unmanned surface vessels designed to deliver persistent maritime domain awareness through reliable, extensively tested autonomous operations. Through this partnership, RS Aqua will represent and support the Seasats product portfolio across the UK and Ireland.

Feeling fresh
We unveiled a brand-new booth, designed to showcase our key products. With more space to explore and plenty to discover, it gave visitors a clearer view of the technology we have on offer.
Sharing the space with us were Seasats, Severn Marine and Del Mar Oceanographic, each showcasing their latest tech, from Lightfish and Clearsignal through to the Wirewalker profiler.

General Oceans Pavilion
As well as our own booth, RS Aqua also joined General Oceans sister brands on their very own pavilion. It was a brilliant chance for the whole family of brands to come together in one place, meet customers face to face and share what we’ve all been working on. The stand was buzzing all week with demos, networking opportunities and of course…
The Passport Challenge!
Visitors travelled from stand to stand collecting stamps in a General Oceans passport, with each brand representing a different country and serving a little taste of its food and drink offerings (Gin & Tonic and Scampi Fries, anyone?). It turned the pavilion into a lively tour around the world, with one lucky winner also taking home a brand new iPhone 17 Pro. Cheers to that!
