T200 Thruster

Originally introduced through Blue Robotics’ 2014 Kickstarter campaign, it’s since become the most popular underwater thruster in the world, used on thousands of marine ROVs, AUVs, boats, and even human-carrying vehicles!

In fact, a prime example of the thrusters applications is the SEABER YUCO micro-AUVs which use T200 thrusters, whereas the new SEABER RECALL ASW training unit uses the T500 thrusters for increased propulsion.

Key Features

•   Patented fully-flooded brushless motor – Water-cooled motor and water-lubricated plastic bushings make the thruster naturally pressure tolerant

•   Optimised for underwater use – Three-phase brushless outrunner motor, similar to what you’d see on drones and RC airplanes

•   Compact design with minimal parts – Tough polycarbonate plastic used for the body and marine grade 316 stainless steel for exposed metal component

•   Ready to use – Includes clockwise and counterclockwise propellers.

In addition, you will need a speed controller like the Blue Robotics Basic ESC, a power source such as a 4s lithium-ion battery pack, and a signal source, like the Thruster Commander, an RC radio receiver, or a microcontroller like the Arduino or Raspberry Pi.

T500 Thruster

The next generation of thrusters with over three times as much propulsion power as the T200 Thruster. Blue Robotics’ T500 is designed for high-power ROVs, surface vessels, and AUVs, as well as human-carrying vehicles like kayaks and SUPs. It’s carefully designed to be rugged, powerful (24V/45.5 A power rating), and flexible in many applications.

•    Over three times as much thrust as T200 -With a max performance of 16.1 kg (35.5 lb) of thrust at an operating voltage of 24V and power consumption of just over 1 kW

•  Patentented flooded thruster design – Inherently pressure tolerant due to the unique water-cooled and lubricated design. The body and propeller are made from impact-resistant glass-filled polycarbonate plastic

•   Improved magnet rotor – Constructed with high-performance N52 neodymium magnets with a metal abrasion shield lining the inside

•   Tested for Reliability – The T500 through hundreds of hours of testing under extreme conditions. We pushed our test units through thousands of cycles, hot and cold temperatures, and extreme pressures

•   Pre-installed WetLink M14 Penetrator – The thruster comes with a 1.5 m (59 in) cable with a pre-installed WetLink Penetrator to make it easy to connect to a watertight enclosure or other housing
