Porpoise 36D

The Porpoise is a high-quality subsea acoustic recorder, ideal for monitoring marine mammals and noise pollution in real time.

Porpoise 36 D has all the same features as a Porpoise except for the internal battery pack.

The internal 36 D-cell battery pack allows the user to go the distance with longer deployments of up to 8 months of continuous recording at highest sampling rate. Each unit includes 1TB of internal recording memory, and is user expandable with microSD cards to 8TB.

The Porpoise is easy to configure and deploy and meets the requirements for a variety of underwater acoustic measurement projects. Current applications for Porpoise include ambient noise monitoring and characterisation, construction monitoring and marine mammal research.

Real time configuration, analysis and visualisation software (TRAC) is supplied with every Porpoise. TRAC allows users to easily setup their instrument parameters including enabled channels, sampling rates, channel gain and recording schedules. With highly configurable sampling rates, intelligent on/off scheduling and configurable hydrophone settings, Porpoise is the smartest subsea acoustic recorder available.
