Project Marlin is our step towards smarter ocean listening. Marlin extends traditional Passive Acoustic Monitoring by delivering full access to raw broadband data and intelligent detection results in near real time – enabling faster, more informed decisions in complex marine environments.

Smarter underwater monitoring

From tracking marine mammals to identifying vessel activity and unusual underwater noise, MARLIN opens a new window into the underwater world and supports better decisions for defense, ocean science, conservation and maritime security.

  • Real-time processing
  • 1TB onboard storage
  • 4G communications as standard (advanced options available)

What is Marlin and how does it work?

Marlin is an intelligent underwater acoustic monitoring system. It listens to the ocean in real time, streaming sound data while using machine learning to detect, analyse and alert users to important acoustic events.

Marlin can detect and analyse a wide range of underwater sounds, from marine life to vessel activity and unusual acoustic events. Its machine learning tools highlight priority detections so users can respond quickly and make better decisions.

Yes. MARLIN has a modular and scalable architecture that supports both fixed installations and mobile deployments. This flexibility makes it suitable for applications ranging from long-term monitoring to mobile surveillance platforms.

Users can view and analyse data through our dedicated desktop application, Marlin Connect. Using data visualisation tools, users can quickly interpret data in near real-time, and visualise detections.
